Improving individual human lives and strengthening communities has been the work of Legal Aid since 1972. We invite you to join us in this work, in the dream of ONE justice for ALL Virginians, now and in the future.
- helps low-income families access life’s basic necessities, including food, shelter and health care;
- ensures individual safety and stability for victims of domestic violence, abused children and seniors;
- supports economic security for workers and families, from disputes about pay and working conditions to consumer protection issues such as fraud and predatory lending.
Contributions from the public are an increasingly important source of support for our efforts to provide low-income residents of southwestern Virginia with critically needed legal assistance.
Please consider supporting our work with a gift made directly to us. You can send donations by mail to SVLAS, 227 W. Cherry St., Marion, VA 24354. Or you may make an online donation to SVLAS at JustGive.org
If you are a state employee, you may wish to contribute through the annual Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (our CVC# is 08389)
SVLAS is registered with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Office of Consumer Affairs pursuant to the Virginia Solicitation of Contributions Law. A financial statement is available upon written request from the Office of Consumer Affairs.
Because SVLAS receives funding from the Legal Services Corporation we are required to notify all donors, including private donors, that we will not engage in activities prohibited by the LSC Act (42 U.S.C. 2996 et. seq. or by Public Law 104-134) or LSC Appropriations Riders. See 45 CFR 1610. If you would like more information on these restrictions please call us or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
