Access to housing is an essential right of all people. The ability to maintain those rights requires both tenants and landlords to follow the law, but sometimes tenants require protection from unjust evictions. This session will address Virginia and Federal laws that assist landlords, tenants, and homeowners with issues surrounding housing access in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Kristi Murray is a staff attorney with Southwest Virginia Legal Aid working on both housing and family law cases. Kristi has brought over a decade of experience to the SVLAS Christiansburg office and uses that knowledge to extensively vet the claims of landlords when seeking to evict clients from their housing.
