2025 Medicare Update
Learn about changes in Medicare parts A, B, C, and D for 2025.
Open enrollment for Medicare begins October 15 through December 7th. This is the time of year an individual can change their drug plan (D) or advantage plan (C). All insurance plans are updated for 2025 and available on Medicare.gov beginning October 15.

Presenter Bio:
Shannon Abell, Volunteer AARP Community Ambassador & Community Educator
Shannon graduated in 1976 from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Finance (Insurance major). He joined the Local Office on Aging in 1984 and was Director of Senior Services and coordinator of the (VICAP) Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program and the (SMP) Senior Medicare Patrol program. Retired from LOA in December 2020 after 37 years of service. Prior to joining LOA worked for 7 years with Allstate Insurance Company as an Office Operations Supervisor. Finally, he joined as a volunteer AARP Community Ambassador and a Community Educator for Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol in 2021.
